Much more than "taking something"

Persona contemplando el atardecer desde la montañaA psychedelic experience doesn't begin or end with the substance. What makes it valuable, or problematic, is how it's prepared, in what context it happens and what is done afterwards with what was lived.I accompany people through preparation, presence during the experience if you request it and, above all, integration.

In Spain, substances such as psilocybin, DMT or MDMA are controlled and their therapeutic use is only permitted in authorised clinical trials. At RILOFU I don't sell, supply or facilitate substances, and none is included in the price of the service. The decision to consume, and to obtain by your own means whatever you decide to consume, is exclusively yours.

The three phases

Before

Preparation

Intention, expectations, moment in life, context and possible risks. Arriving informed and calm changes the experience.
During

The experience

Understanding what can happen: intense emotions, memories, images, a sense of meaning. Knowing it's part of the process reduces fear. If you request it, I can be present to accompany you, look after the setting and help you hold whatever comes up.
After

Integration

Putting words to what was lived, separating the useful from the confusing, and turning it into concrete decisions in your life.

Preparation and integration in detail

Harm reduction

Talking about psychedelics responsibly means talking about risks. Some basic principles:
  • Inform yourself well about the substance, its effects and its duration.
  • Review interactions with medication and your own and family health history with a healthcare professional.
  • Take care of your emotional state beforehand and of the setting.
  • Don't do it alone or in moments of crisis.
  • Give yourself time afterwards to rest and process.
This information is educational. It isn't an invitation to consume and doesn't replace medical advice.

Psychedelics, science and consciousness

Clinical research with psychedelics is promising, but it's still developing and takes place in controlled settings. It doesn't replace any medical or psychological treatment. At the same time, there's something in the experience that science still can't fully explain. That's why my approach combines a scientific basis, philosophy and openness to experience, without falling into dogma or miracle promises.More about this outlook in my approach, philosophy and integration and holistic approach.
